Colin Edwards is an American MotoGP rider. He was born with the name Colin Edwards II because it has the same name as his father, Colin Edwards Sr. Colin also has a nickname as the Texas Tornado, because he was born and raised in Texas, USA.

Colin has been introduced with the minibike by his father since the age of 3 years, which itself Colin's father was an amateur motorcycle racer. Colin followed a year later his first motocross racing event. For ten years competed in motocross, Colin has repeatedly won the championship in the 50cc to 80cc class for local, regional, and national levels.

Colin started his first professional career by following the AMA 250cc class and managed to become champion. Colin also actively participates in the World Superbike Championship and Suzuka 8 Hour with Honda and Yamaha and the proud he was able to bring home the title many times. Colin finally MotoGP debut in 2003 with the Aprilia team. Colin moved next season with Honda. In 2005, Colin decided to move again with Yamaha until the end of the season of 2007. At the beginning of the 2008 season, Colin moved with the Tech 3 team, but still with riding a Yamaha. Colin also expressed he would leave the Tech 3 in the 2012 season and joined the Forward Racing.

Outside the race track, Colin build a racetrack facility near Lake Conroe, Texas, in February 2011 ago. The arena was opened to the public by making a reservation in advance if you want to enjoy the facilities that exist in it.

In October 2011, Colin was involved in an accident in the race at the Malaysian GP at the Sepang circuit.
