David Villa Sánchez is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a striker for American club New York City. He is nicknamed El Guaje because as a youngster he frequently played football with children much older than him.  David Villa started his career at the age of 10 years with a local team of UP Langreo. El Guaje, nicknamed David Villa at the age of 18 years with Sporting de Gijon. In his first season, he had to work hard to be able to play in the first team, and the result is felt in the next season, when he became the main option to create 18 goals in the league, followed by 20 goals in the following season.

2003 Villa move to Real Zaragoza. scored a goal in his new club, with 17 goals in his first season. Villa only defend two seasons at Zaragoza, Valencia interested in using his services with the agreement of 12 million euros in 2005.

2005/2006 season, David Villa played a total of 35 matches, scoring 25 goals, and was the top scorer for Valencia, one goal difference Samuel Eto'o the League of top score. Because they do not want to lose his best players then Valencia extend the contract until 2013. He scored a hat trick as against Athetic Bilbao on 23 April 2006. In the 2010/2011 first season with Barca , left winger has helped Barca win the Spanish Super League and Champions League . He ended the season by scoring against Manchester United in the final of Champions final at Wembley .

Villa played in the 2006 World Cup and 2010 European Cup in 2008. In the 2010 World Cup , he scored five goals together with his goal Muller ( Germany ) , Snejder ( Holland ) and Forlán ( Uruguay ) as the top scorer .
