However , he resigned . On August 22, 2008 , Barack Obama announced that Biden was appointed as a vice-presidential candidate pairs in the 2008 Presidential Election .
Joe Biden is the first child of four siblings. He was educated at the University of Delaware and Syracuse Law School . Then , when she was 29 years old , he was elected as a member of the US Senate . He is the youngest person in the Senate .
A week after the election , an accident befell his family . His wife , Neilia Hunter and his daughter , Naomi died from this event . While the son suffered severe injuries . Biden was sworn in as a member of the US Senate at the bedside of her children. He started work with went to Washington by train . This habit he did as long as he served as a member of the Senate .
In 1977 , he married Jill Jacobs . Jill is a college teacher in the Washington DC area . And Jill Biden have a child that is Ashley .
During the 36 years served as the origin of Delaware Senator, he proved that he is an important figure both domestically and internationally. As chairman or ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee for 17 years, then-Senator Biden was widely recognized prowess on criminal justice issues, including in the case of the landmark 1994 Crime Bill and violence against women. As chairman or ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee since 1997, then-Senator Biden played a pivotal role in shaping US foreign policy. He has been at the forefront of issues and regulations related to terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, post-Cold War Europe, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia.
Now, as the 47th Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden has continued his leadership on important issues facing the nation. Vice President tasked to implement the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to help rebuild the American economy and lay the foundation for a sustainable economic future. In 2008, Biden received the Best of Congress Award, for "improving the American quality of life through family-friendly work policies," from Working Mother magazine.
